The Phoenix Centre, Coventry

Phoenix has transformed
an area of low quality,
 randomly distributed
post-war commercial
developments in the

town centre into a

revitalized townscape.

This exciting new development includes the
following new features:
• The dramatic twin arch structure and a glass
bridge at the entrance to the town
• Public artworks with the theme of friendship and
international friendship in the main Millennium Square
• Restored Lady Herbert Gardens
• A contemporary square with café and water feature
surrounded by new apartments at Priory Place
• A historic cloister with pleached lime trees and seats and in
particular a vocal art theme of ‘Voices from Coventry’
• A space-age overhead walkway linking all spaces through
‘the walk of 1000 years
