at bristol projects


The award was won 
for the two new 
buildings, ‘Wildscreen’
and ‘Explore’, and 
the surrounding spaces 

of Millennium Square, 
Anchor Place and Anchor Square at Canons Marsh in Bristol.
Millennium Square is a bright, contemporary, well-designed
and implemented public space with seating, planting and
art works including a series of shallow water terraces by
the artist William Pye, and light work by David Ward and
Martin Richman. Natural elements are predominant and
include French limestone, structures are clad in terracotta
with zinc roofs and the seating is a sustainable hardwood.
Standing and seated figures provide some of the sculptural
elements.
The square is integrated into pedestrian routes to the other
new spaces, Anchor Square and Anchor Place.
