Responding to the brief the architects have used

the building to experiment with contrast of light and dark. 

The staggered hall sits on the slope like two separate 

volumes linked by an entrance hall with floor-to-ceiling glazing. 

set in one frame from white limestone. 

The plan has the harmony of a Mondrian painting.
